I was a journalist and Social Media Editor for U of I's student newspaper. As a journalist, I aimed to share the community, culture, and activities in Moscow, Idaho. On social media, I strived to bring the Argonaut's stories into the digital space.

Vandals volunteer in Hawaii

During spring break, ten University of Idaho students volunteered for the ʻĀina Hoʻōla Initiative, a local Hawaiian non-profit focused on cultural and environmental preservation. Traveling to the big island, this group learned about Hawaiian culture while restoring wetland ecosystems.

Within four months of running this account, I increased engagement and visibility.

Our monthly views grew from 2.7K in January to 29K in April. That’s over a 10x increase in three months.

I honed my interviewing and storytelling skills while being a reporter for the Argonaut. I feel much more confident in my ability to find the angle within a story and communicate it well.
